It happened. Her Perfect Life published and went out into the world on Tuesday, June 2nd, 2020.

This date has been circled on my calendar for over a year, ever since my editor gave me the official pub date in April of 2019.

I had imagined that day, and what it would feel like for 18 years.

As you may well imagine, it ended up nothing at all like I had imagined.

I want to thank all the friends and readers out in the world who have been so supportive and encouraging–I feel very fortunate to be on this road with you.

Becky, finished your new book last night. Oh my, thoroughly enjoyed it. You have hit on a style that feels very different, refreshing and oh-so believable – like real people. As always your wonderful sense of humor shines through. I don’t know enough about writing to discuss the technical parts that define a great story but I believe you hit all of them right on. The story couldn’t have come together so beautifully and with so much power if the telling wasn’t spot on. I immediately connected with all the characters, I saw myself or people I have known in a myriad of life experiences. I loved the ‘aha-ness’ of recognizing how skillfilly and subtlely you portrayed a great truth/perfection that I figured out long ago. When I run across a story that puts that in words, it takes my breath away. We need reminders of the beauty and simiplicity that is the undercurrent of our lives. I will read this again. “Affective Needs” touched me in a way that gave more than a hint of your talent and abilities. I’m reminded of an expression in the bar business – ‘crafting your buzz’. It’s awesome to see your ‘buzz’ coming on – can’t wait to see where it takes you. Savour every moment of this, it’s your ‘perfect’ life.

I’m going to frame this very generous compliment and hang it somewhere near my desk. Thank you Bonnie for the very kind words.
